history
Paige Elizabeth Cresswell was born on February 29th, 1960, just eighteen months after her older brother Dirk. She was a quiet, kind child who preferred reading (especially fairytales), writing, and drawing to running around with the neighdorhood kids. While she did have a few close friends, she was content to create her own amusements, often dreaming up marvelous adventures that could take place entirely within the confines of the Cresswells’ small house and garden.

Paige’s first sign of magic was displayed at the tender age of four. She was colouring in a picture book about King Arthur and Camelot when she discovered that her purple crayon had gone missing. Extremely upset by this, she went to her mother for help. Marilyn was quite unable to grasp the importance of a purple crayon to a four-year-old, however, and simply encouraged her daughter to choose a different colour. Not at all pleased with this advice, Paige stalked back to her colouring book. When Marilyn went to check on her daughter ten minutes later, she found the child colouring happily, every crayon in her box having turned a different shade of purple. Marilyn was perplexed, but soon forgot about it entirely (as most are wont to do when they don’t understand something). It wasn’t until years later, when Dirk received his Hogwarts letter, that Marilyn recalled that day and wondered if she and Sheldon had created not one, but two magical children.

When Dirk left for Hogwarts, Paige was crushed. She missed him terribly and, although she was thrilled for him, was also the tiniest bit jealous. She wrote him at least once a week and treasured the letters (and especially the magical pictures) he sent back, savouring each morsel of information about magic and the wizarding world in general.

The day Paige received her Hogwarts letter was the happiest day of her young life. From the moment she stepped onto Platform 9 ¾, she truly felt like she belonged. Like Dirk, she was sorted into Gryffindor, where she has flourished ever since.

personality
At sixteen, Paige Cresswell is just as likely to spend a Saturday night reading a good book as she was at the age of eight. She wouldn’t necessarily turn down an invitation to a party or a date, but she isn’t one to actively seek out social stimulation.

She is a dreamer and a romantic, someone who tends to spend an inordinate amount of time with her head in the clouds. She enjoys fairytales, myths, and legends as much as she did as a child, and often amuses herself by identifying real-life parallels to the characters and stories she loves.

Paige is soft-spoken, friendly, and compassionate almost to a fault. Over the years, she’s become Gryffindor’s own Agony Aunt – someone to turn to for advice or encouragement. Her ability to understand others has also made her a sort of unofficial mediator; she has a knack for drilling down to the crux of an issue and helping people work through their differences.

Of course, no one is perfect. Paige can be a bit too sensitive at times; something which often translates into moodiness. She also spends more time daydreaming than she does on her homework – an endless source of frustration to her professors (especially those who taught Dirk the year before). She’s not particuarly skilled with a wand (she knows enough to get by, but will not be taking N.E.W.T. level charms, transfiguration, or DADA), but she’s brilliant at divination, arithmancy, ancient runes, and astronomy.

miscellaneous
LIKES: Reading, drawing, romance, cumulus clouds, figs, swimming, music, sweets, hot tea, old muggle movies.
DISLIKES: Large crowds, flying, bullies, bees.

STRENGTHS: Compassionate, friendly, has a decent sense of humour.
FLAWS: Sensitive, gullible, has a hard time saying “no”.

ASTROLOGICAL SIGN: Pisces

Pisces is the twelfth sign of the Zodiac, and governs the feet. Positive traits include idealism, wisdom, intuition, empathy, imagination, creativity, adaptability, compassion, and an uncanny connection to all that is spiritual and otherworldly (which makes for talent in magic); negative traits include being easily influenced by other people, gullibility, a lack of backbone, escapism, addictive personality, impracticality, emotional game-playing, delusion, and a total inability to say "no."

While not the bravest of Gryffindors, the Gryffindor Pisces still exhibits a quiet courage. They aren't afraid to face painful truths, if there really is no way of escaping them. These Gryffindors are deeply compassionate, and full of emotional strength, often becoming the unofficial counselors in the common room who everybody runs to for advice. They are romantic to an extreme; their minds are stuffed full of fairy tales, myths, and legends. They often spend more time daydreaming than doing their homework, to the vexation of their professors. Still, their daydreams do sometimes produce uncanny insights. (taken from birds of a feather)

RANDOM FACT: Paige is an Empath and, for lack of a better term, a Seer (although her Sight is limited to premonitory dreams rather than actual prophesies). This more than makes up for her lack of skill with a wand, but isn’t the easiest combination to live with – especially in a school full of emotional, melodramatic teenagers. While this explains her uncanny ability to understand and help others, it could also explain her preference for quiet, intimate settings.

FUTURE: After graduation, Paige will work for the ministry as a Mediator and Negotiator. During the second war, she, along with her husband and two children, will flee to the United States.
