history
After the Second War, Bill and Fleur Weasley relocated to Egypt, where Bill was immediately reoffered his previous position as a Curse Breaker for Gringotts. Sunny Alexandria was a blessed change from dreary England, where the constant reminders of those lost in the war lingered on like mist that never quite dissipated. Bill, having missed the adventure and challenge of curse-breaking, threw himself into the role, obtaining great treasures for the bank and impressing goblins and wizards alike. In 2000, the couple welcomed their first child into the world: Victoire Elizabeth. When Victoire was five, the Weasleys added a new member to their small family: Annette Mathilde. Twins Jean and Juliet arrived two years later, followed by little Bastien.
By that point, the little family had outgrown their small house, and Victoire would soon be starting Hogwarts. In a fortuitous turn of events, Bill was offered a position at the Gringotts headquarters in London, as head of the Curse Breaking Unit (the highest position offered to a non-goblin in over 75 years). It was with some regret that Bill left his adventurous position for an office job, but it was time. It was a very generous offer (including a sizeable pay raise), and Bill and Fleur wanted their children to grow up amongst their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
Although only four when they moved back to England, Annie still remembers the pang of sadness upon leaving her beloved Alexandria, the adventure of moving to another country, and the excitement of meeting all of her young cousins (instant playmates!). It took her a little time to get used to the rain, but Annie grew to love her new home.
Annie was a happy, outgoing child with an active imagination. She loved to dance, sing, draw and tell stories to her younger siblings and cousins (really, anything that put her in the spotlight). She quickly became the darling of the Weasley clan, charming adults and children alike, and it wasn’t long before she discovered that she could leverage this golden-child status to her advantage.
personality
Out of all of the Delacour-Weasley children, Annie is probably the most like her mother. She’s pretty and vivacious, smart and cunning. She expresses herself freely, from the clothes she wears to her actions and words. Those who don’t know her sometimes find her highly-opinionated frankness a bit unnerving - and, at times, rather insulting. An insult, however, is rarely her intent; she just tends to speak and act without much forethought.
She’s very loyal to her family and friends, but not above a little bit of manipulation to get what she want. Her part-veela charm, combined with the natural charisma she inherited from her father, makes her a rather irresistible presence at times.
Annie is full of passion and fire. If she likes something (or someone, for that matter) she likes it down to the very core of her being. She’ll throw her heart, soul, body, and mind into whatever it is that has caught her interest. The downside of this undeniable passion is that she has a very short fuse. Thankfully, her temper is usually short-lived; a bright flare-up that dwindles down to nothing in a matter of minutes.
She’s good at subjects that focus on practical applications of magic, such as charms, DADA, and transfiguration (and absolutely terrible at anything to do with magical theory), but her greatest talent is music. She has an incredibly beautiful voice – a clear, agile soprano that can be either bright or ethereal, depending on her mood. Of note: on two separate occasions, she managed to lull her entire audience into a trance-like state through song. It wasn’t intentional, and the trance seemed to die with the music, but Annie could feel the great power of it as she sang - scary and thrilling. She suspects that this might have had something to do with her veela heritage, but she’s never broached the subject with her mother or Grandmère Apolline.
miscellaneous
TALENTS: Singing, storytelling, wand work, can speak French fluently (naturellement!)
Personality Strengths: Passionate, charming, caring, loyal.
FLAWS: Couldn’t fly a broomstick to save her life, awful at potions and astronomy (although she managed to squeeze into the N.E.W.T.-level courses with some serious help).
Personality Flaws: Manipulative, outspoken, sometimes a bit snobbish.
ASTROLOGICAL SIGN: Leo
Leo is the fifth sign of the zodiac and rules the back, the spine, and the heart. Positive traits include creativity, charisma, generosity, warmth, enthusiasm, a natural talent for leadership, and a great deal of inner power; negative traits are haughtiness, snobbery, an expectation that one is the centre of attention and should be waited on by everyone else, profligacy, lack of realism, dominance that can lead to bullying, and a refusal to change one's mind even in the face of solid facts.
This is a natural sign for Gryffindors, not least because the griffin is part lion. Gryffindors born under this sign are outgoing, friendly, affectionate, and likeable. They make friends easily and are crushed when their advances are rejected. Their romantic, chivalrous nature makes them perfect examples of all that is best in their House. However, they are also bossy, domineering, spendthrift, and overly dramatic (ever heard the phrase "drama queen?") They have sharp tempers and need to learn to direct their anger toward only needful causes. The natural creativity and flamboyance of Leo makes Gryffindors born under this sign good at most everything they attempt, provided they apply themselves to learning magic rather than using magic to hog the limelight.
