history
Marius Wagtail met his much-younger wife, Reidun, at a ball held by the Swedish Minister of Magic. Marius was a newly-appointed chargé representing the British Ministry of Magic, and Reidun Ǻkerblom was an up-and-coming cellist invited to perform at the gala. The two fell in love and married shortly thereafter. Both Marius and Reidun came from wealthy pureblood families, and the match was considered acceptable by all parties.

Myron was born a mere seven months after their wedding, with his sister Sofia following six years later. Both youngsters were brought up with all of the advantages befitting pureblood children of considerable wealth and status. Before coming to Hogwarts, Myron spent most of the year at his paternal grandparents’ country manor, where he attended the usual balls and functions, made friends with other wealthy pureblood children, studied (and eventually mastered) several musical instruments, and was educated by the finest (and most frustrated) private tutors money could buy. During the summer, he and his sister accompanied their parents on tours and diplomatic missions.

Myron arrived at Hogwarts as a spoiled but charming child. He was sorted into Slytherin (along with many of his childhood friends) and has thrived socially, if not academically. He remains friendly with most of his housemates, but has also branched out, making friends with students from other houses and eventually forming a band with several of them.

Myron just took his O.W.L.s and doesn’t anticipate that he will be in many of the advanced N.E.W.T. level courses. This is fine by him, even though it drives his professors batty (he’s actually very bright, but just doesn’t care enough to bother with trivial things like homework and studying). He’s a musician through-and-through, and fully intends to make a fortune doing what he loves.

personality
Myron, better known as Wags, is the quintessential frontman. He oozes charm and charisma and knows how to use these qualities to his advantage. Of course, his pretty-boy looks, rock-star sex appeal and (sometimes) outrageous sense of style don’t hurt, either.

All in all, he’s a veritable triumvirate of conviviality: gregarious, boisterous, and just a bit mischievous. He can usually be found jamming with his mates, chatting someone up, or looking for the next party.

If he didn’t have his heart set on becoming a professional musician, he could easily follow in his father’s shoes. He is a natural-born diplomat: commanding attention, resolving differences, and making everyone comfortable and content – all while subtly bringing them around to his way of thinking. In fact, he could be a great asset to the Light or the Dark…if only he had the inclination to choose a side and fight for it.

With Wags, everything is fine and dandy – until he doesn’t get his way. On these increasingly rare occasions, his dark side – the Diva – emerges. He will be moody and negative, quick-tempered and even cruel. Most people never see this side of him, so it’s almost always ugly and shocking when they do.

Wags in a nutshell? In general, he’s a pretty good guy, and not quite as shallow or self-serving as one might assume.

VIEWS
ON VOLDEMORT:He’s pretty sure that several of his housemates are in allegiance with the Big Baddie (although to what degree he is not sure), but isn’t interested in doing joining up with him, personally - he just wants to concentrate on his music and having a good time. That being said, he is smart enough to know when to keep his mouth shut.
ON BLOOD PURITY:He mostly associates with purebloods, simply by virtue of his house and upbringing, but he doesn’t really have anything against half-bloods and muggleborns. To be honest, he’s never really given it much thought.
ON THE OTHER HOUSES:He actually has friends in all of the houses, thanks to his band. However, if he had to make generalizations, he’d say that Gryffindors are ballsy but vainglorious, Hufflepuffs are friendly doormats, and Ravenclaws need to get out more. MUCH more.

LIKES: Music (especially muggle rock), his mates, writing music, singing, playing the guitar, sex, booze, pumpkin pasties, and dragon-hide boots.
DISLIKES: Quidditch, prudes, being told “no.”

TALENTS: Excellent singer/songwriter, great at charming his way out of things (or, um…into them), can play the piano, violin, and guitar.
FLAWS: Astonishingly bad lyricist, a bit egotistical, acts like a spoiled brat when things don’t go his way.

SEXUALITY/LOVE INTERESTS: Bi-curious. He's mostly into girls, but would be open to experimentation if the opportunity arose. His main love interest is Bridget Enders, the girl his parents have arranged for him to marry.
