history
When Bryn Llewellyn forbade his youngest son to marry Isolde Toots, it wasn't because of her muggle heritage (although that didn't help matters) or lack of connections. No, in this case, it was a simple matter of money. Bryn was a rich, miserly old man, always looking for ways to increase his wealth, and allowing Rhys to wed a penniless muggleborn was definitely not a means to that end. When Rhys married Isolde against his father's wishes, he was immediately disowned.

Lucky for them, money mattered very little to the newlyweds. The young couple found a tiny flat in London, where Rhys was offered a position in the Werewolf Support Services Office. It wasn't exactly a well-payed position, but it was a dream job for an idealistic young man who believed in equal rights and fair treatment for all magical beings.

In 1965, Rhys was killed by one of the very beings he worked to support and protect. It was a tragic accident, a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and his death left Isolde, Tilden, Tegan and Lilybet heartbroken and destitute. Two weeks after Rhys was buried, Isolde discovered that she was pregnant with their fourth child. At the insistence of her mother and sister, the young widow moved her family back to Sarn Meyllteyrn, a small village in the heart of the Llŷn Peninsula in Wales.

Although they were muggles, Enid and Aeron Toots were widely known as the local "witches". Unlike real witches, however, the Toots women were more like the wise women of old; women with a deep understanding of herbs, healing and midwifery. Isolde's skill in herbology and potions only added to their already vast knowledge base. The three women managed to earn a small but sufficient living as healers and herbalists, and together they shared the upbringing of the Toots-Llewellyn children. They didn't have much, but they lived a happy existence in the Welsh countryside.

personality
Tilden Toots-Llewellyn doesn’t actually have three green thumbs, but he might as well. A good-natured, down-to-earth lad, Tilden has the ability to make just about anything grow and thrive.

He loves the outdoors and much prefers the grounds and greenhouses to the library and classrooms. Although he's far from dim-witted, he just isn't interested in purely academic or theoretical endeavours. He'd rather do something than read about it, and he doesn't mind getting his hands dirty in the process.

This country boy is a throwback to a simpler, slower time - something that is obvious in everything from his unhurried gait and lilting speech to his absolute disregard for fads and frivolity. In his mind, people should be measured by the strength of their character, not the size of their Gringotts vault or the model of their broomstick. He may lack the social graces of some of his more urbane compatriots, but his easy smile and warm nature more than make up for any faux pas he might commit.

Having grown up in a household full of women, Tilden has a great respect and understanding of the fairer sex.

Well, sort of.

He knows more about women than most boys his age, but he has no idea how to relate to them in anything but than a brotherly, platonic fashion. He has plenty of female friends, but he's never had a girlfriend - or even a casual snog in an abandoned classroom. It isn’t that he doesn’t like girls, or that he doesn't have the same urges as any other 17-year-old boy, he's just had very little exposure to things like flirting, dating or...well, anything of a physical nature. In many ways, he’s an incredibly naive young man – definitely not the type to make the first move.

miscellaneous
LIKES: Plants, animals, being outside, storytelling, singing, his family, quidditch, trivia, swimming, peanut butter.
DISLIKES: Wastefulness, frivolity, meat, shallow people.

ASTROLOGICAL SIGN: Sagittarius

Sagittarius is the ninth house of the zodiac and rules the liver, hips, and thighs. Positive traits include optimism, innate wisdom, a philosophical outlook, a love of nature, generosity, joie de vive, flexibility, a keen intellect, independence, energy, natural good luck, foresight, and the capacity to dream big; negative traits include restlessness, tactlessness, clumsiness, naivete, unwillingness to commit, and a tendency to ignore important details while looking at a big, sketchy picture.

Hufflepuff Sagittarians are good-natured, cheerful, and clever, and their natural skill at teaching other people what they have learned ensures that they will be professors or magical tutors upon leaving Hogwarts. Their outdoorsy ways also give them a gift with all growing things and wildlife. These wizards have more difficulty than most wizards of their house applying themselves to their studies; Sagittarius is a sign of intellect, but not discipline, and it is painful for Hufflepuffs born under this sign to do homework when they'd rather be out on the Quidditch field or taking nature hikes. They will knuckle down, but not without protest. Although they are socially graceless, their good natures make up for any accidental offenses they may commit. (taken from birds of a feather)

FUTURE: Tilden will eventually drop the Llewellyn (well, professionally) and become Tilden Toots, celebrity herbologist and radio personality. He will marry author Daisy Hookum.
